KU’s Bachelor of Science in Applied Biological Sciences degree is designed for undergraduate students who have completed an associate’s degree or equivalent hours, and want to complete the final two years of a bachelor’s degree program. This pathway is an excellent choice for students who are critical thinkers and who enjoy synthesizing data and working on teams or individually to solve problems. The degree is often used as a stepping stone to medical school or other post-graduate education, but can also be used as an introduction to a career in lab-based bioscience.
How is the applied biological sciences program structured?
The Bachelor of Science in Applied Biological Sciences program consists of 120 credit hours, including 36 hours of general science requirements, 32 hours of biological sciences core classes, 12 hours of biological sciences electives, 24 hours of KU Core requirements and 16 hours of open electives.
